This year the Norman Chamber of Commerce Crime Stoppers Committee will host their 14th annual banquet to recognize and honor the public safety agencies and officers serving our community. This year’s event will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 19, at Journey Church, on the corner of I-35 and Tecumseh Rd.

Awards will be presented to officers from the following agencies: Cleveland County District Attorney's Office, Cleveland County Sheriff's Office, EMSSTAT-Norman Regional Health System, Norman Fire Department, Norman Police Department, and the University of Oklahoma Police Department. In addition, Mary Abbott Children’s House will present the Wayne Martin Memorial Award.

In addition to the officers, the recipients of two Crime Stoppers Memorial Scholarships will be recognized. The two scholarships are named in honor of the late John Dutch, Norman Fire Chief of fourteen years and Steve W. Cain, retired Captain who served with the Norman Police Department for 29 years. Eligible scholarship candidates are the dependents of public safety personnel employed in Cleveland County.

The banquet is open to all community members. Tickets are $17.50 each and corporate table sponsorships are available for $300.00. For more information contact Erica Millar at 321-7260, or [email protected].
