Norman OneSource Your source for news, events, culture, and politics in Norman, Oklahoma. So consider purchasing ad space with us or donating via okc.net website.

You might be wondering why OKC centric peeps would take on the task of running this FB page. Quite simply: it's because we know a lot of people in Norman with really cool events going on and 365 Things to in OKC is generally not the place to share them. So if you like what we do, remember that our landlord still wants his rent, like every month. Otherwise enjoy the page or not. It's not like we'll

track you down and shout "HOW COME U NO LIKE US?!?!?!" like a deranged Cookie Monster, Grover or whatever. Although we hope you will like the events and news we will go on to post throughout the year.

The City of Norman will be distributing 100,000 free face masks to residents and business owners as part of Norman’s efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. Masks are now required in all public spaces following an ordinance that went into effect on July 8.

The disposable masks, which were purchased through an anonymous donation, will be available for pickup from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at the following fire stations:

· Station 1, 411 E. Main Street
· Station 5, 1050 168th Avenue NE
· Station 8, 3901 36th Avenue NW
· Station 9, 3001 Alameda Street

Individuals and business owners wishing to pick up masks should approach public entrance located at the front of each fire station.

City of Norman Ordinance 2021-3 defines a mask as a covering made of cloth or fabric without holes that covers the nose and mouth and surrounding areas of the lower face. Masks may be factory-made, or handmade and improvised from ordinary household materials. Household items such as bandanas, towels, t-shirts or any other cotton or linen fabric can be used to make a mask.

It's come to our attention that a Unite Norman supporter has parked and shared a message indicating support of the recall petition on a website that appears linked to the festival but decidedly is not.

Our official website is www.normanmusicfestival.com, where you will instead find the message we shared a couple weeks ago of how disappointed we are that we can't host our beloved festival, one that celebrates and promotes all of the beautiful diversity of voices and backgrounds that come from within our city, surrounding state and region.

It's unfortunate that the Unite Norman group has resorted to attempts to blatantly mislead and manipulate the Norman community by suggesting otherwise.
