Do you live with a family member or dependent with autism or any other condition that may affect their reactions to first responders?

This Saturday, January 28th at the Norristown Rec Center for the Norristown Autism Town Hall, come to the Norristown Police table to fill out a FREE and completely VOLUNTARY form to have your family member or dependent’s information added to the County dispatch alerts system. This will notify ANY first responder, whether it’s fire, police, or EMS, to be aware of your family member’s condition and any special needs they may have when it comes to interaction with responding agencies coming to your home.

Don’t live in Norristown? No problem! Any information we collect will be forwarded to your local police department on your behalf.

Come for the ones you are interested in, hang out on the organization floor and meet representatives from around 40 different health, wellness, law, resource, and first responder organizations. Enjoy ordering from the Lumbrada Express food truck or coffee from Jake the Barista, or hang out with first responder trucks, cars, and equipment from three police departments, Norristown Fire, and Plymouth Ambulance.

It’s going to be a great time whether you are affected by autism or just an ally. Spanish translators on site for non-English speaking attendees.

Join us January 28th from 12 to 5p at the Norristown Recreation Center for the first Norristown Autism Town Hall!

Even though it’s hosted by the NPD, this is NOT just a police event; over 30 community organizations and first responder agencies will be attendance, as well as speakers and panels on topics ranging from autism & law enforcement, to nutrition, elopement, mental health, fire safety, and more!

Come see first responder agency equipment, meet NPD K9 Nero, and gain knowledge and resources regardless of whether or not you have family or are personally affected by autism.

FREE Event Alert! Basketball With A Cop!

Norristown Police Department in partnership with the George Washington Carver Center is pleased to invite you to the first Basketball with a Cop event!

Come out on January 14th from 2:30 to 4:00pm for an open gym, to play some pickup ball or make some shots with Officers from NPD.

The event is free and open to kids and families of all ages! We hope to see you there!
