It was a busy Sunday at NPD. We started our day at Christ Church UCC, engaging with the congregation on issues related to public safety in Norristown. They also presented the department with a generous donation of snacks and treats.

Meanwhile, NPD’s Community Impact Unit was also hard at work providing Water Ice to all those attending the George Washington Carver Community Center’s back to school event.

We are deeply grateful for opportunities to connect with our community. Stay safe!

In March of 2026 NPD launched the Girls In Blue mentoring program for girls ages 10 to 17. The program was the brainchild of Norristown Police Officer Jaleesa Davis and has far exceeded anyone’s expectations. Today we hosted the graduation ceremony for the first Girls In Blue Cohort. Please join NPD in congratulating the girls on completing the program and please help us give a big shoutout to Officer Davis in recognition of her commitment to service and all the members of NPD who helped make this program an overwhelming success.

Norristown neighbors, let’s hang out! 🏡

Come and join us next Tuesday for National Night Out at 500 block of Haws Av.

Bring your family and friends to connect with first responders, local government officials, local churches and local agencies. Let’s have an afternoon full of fun, with music and free food.

More than 40 agencies will be there to support, serve, and celebrate you!

Remember, it is a free event.
