It's been a busy few weeks for the MBA! From well over 100 Constitution Week Read Alouds to students in grades 1–5, our latest of dozens of civics presentations on local college campuses, and our Constitution Day Ceremony with the Daughters of the American Revolution, to a successful Bench Bar Conference in the Pocono Mountains and yesterday’s beautiful Ecumenical Service at Valley Forge National Historical Park, our bar association and members have been active to say the least.

Amid all this activity, we wanted to pause and reflect on a very special evening for both our bar association and bar foundation.

On Friday, September 18th, the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project (MCAP) hosted its annual gala, "An Evening of Impact," at the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove. The Montgomery Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Foundation were deeply humbled to be jointly honored during this event.

Above all, this recognition belongs to our hundreds of dedicated member attorneys who have volunteered thousands of pro bono hours to stand up for abused and neglected children in dependency proceedings since MCAP was founded in 2004. We could not be prouder of our members' tireless commitment to protecting young lives across Montgomery County -- and of those of you who have helped give wings to causes like MCAP by supporting our Foundation.

And of course, thank you, MCAP, for all that you do -- and for this tremendous honor!

https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjD6vp9 Today we rekindled a time-honored tradition, co-hosting a meaningful morning of reflection, history, and fellowship with the 38th Judicial District Court of Common Pleas and Magisterial District Courts in Montgomery County. Fittingly with our nation’s 250th, we did so at Valley Forge National Historic Park’s George Washington Memorial Chapel.

Our 2026 Ecumenical Service brought our legal community together to invoke blessings upon our courts and affirm our shared commitment to justice. We kicked off the morning with a fascinating CLE presented by the MBA Historical Committee on legal practitioners during the Valley Forge encampment, followed by the blessing ceremony in the historic chapel.

Today’s ceremony featured guest speaker Federal Judge Mark A. Kearney of the U.S. District Court’s Eastern District of Pennsylvania; a brief presentation on the history of the chapel and grounds by Patricia Nogar, Executive Director of Washington Memorial Heritage; a special reading by Montgomery County President Judge Carolyn T. Carluccio; and opening remarks from MBA President Colin J. O’Boyle. The morning concluded with a lovely lunch in Patriots Hall, where the CLE had taken place earlier.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special MBA tradition!
