Jeanne Sorg, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds The Recorder of Deeds office maintains the integrity of all land records and other documents.

The mission of the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds office is to maintain the integrity of all land records and other documents entrusted to the department as well as the collection and monthly distribution of county / state fees and real estate transfer taxes for the state, townships, boroughs, and school districts while efficiently serving the public with complete accountability and responsib

ility. This office does not depend upon the county tax dollars to operate. The Recorder of Deeds Office is self-sufficient and generates a profit (over the operating expenses) for the Montgomery County General Fund.
