On September 14, 2026, Sharon Giamporcaro joined the legal team of the MCAP as a part-time staff attorney. Sharon recently retired from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as Deputy District Attorney and Chief of the Juvenile Division. She graduated from Villanova University School of Law and did her undergraduate work in nursing at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to practicing law, Sharon still maintains her nursing license and is the proud mother of twin sons. She also loves to hike and rock climb, and she is dedicating her boundless energy to help the most vulnerable children of our community. Sharon brings a wealth of experience to MCAP, and we are thrilled to welcome her as the newest member of our staff!

Earlier today, MCAP stood alongside Victim Services Center of Montgomery County, Inc., Mission Kids, Women's Center of Montgomery County, Laurel House and community leaders for the Red Sand Project, a powerful initiative that raises awareness about human trafficking.

Together, we filled the cracks outside the Montgomery Bar Association with red sand to honor those who have fallen through them and to affirm that they are seen, supported, and not forgotten.

Every grain of sand represents a commitment to speak up, stand together, and help build a community where no one is overlooked.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in raising awareness and showing that meaningful change begins when a community comes together.
