Congratulations to Norristown Fire Department’s K9 Wagner on earning 1st Place Overall Accelerant Detection at the 2026 USPCA National Detector Dog Trials in Atlantic City!

Wagner’s handler, Firefighter Soulen, shared:
“I couldn’t be more proud of this incredible K-9. His drive, focus, and heart show up to every challenge, and this achievement is a true reflection of that.”

A special thank you to Chief O’Donnell, the trainers at Penn Vet, and Firefighter Soulen for their continued support, guidance, and dedication in helping shape K9 Wagner into such an exceptional K-9 partner.

Last evening, the Governor’s Center for Local Government Services GCLGS presented to Municipal Council the completed fire service study for the Norristown Fire Department. This study was requested by the Municipality. This project included completing significant research and data collection which occurred in the summer of 2025. The GCLGS
lead Fire Peer Consultant conducted the necessary field work related to this project and subsequently completed this report. A copy of the report can be seen at www.Norristownfire.org
