UPDATE - Due to the weather forecast where the helicopter is stationed, the exercise is canceled for September 2nd.

On Sept. 1 a procession will es**rt the transfer of Montgomery County's 9/11 Memorial from Eagleville to its new permanent home at Elmwood Park.

The memorial incorporates a steel I-beam recovered from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

The procession starts at 9 a.m. with intermittent road closures to begin at 8:30 a.m. along Eagleville Road, Ridge Pike, Main Street, Markley Street (Route 202), and Harding Boulevard

A public rededication ceremony will take place Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Park.

This Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM, Councilwoman Natalie Colson, Judge Hakeem Jones, and members of the Norristown Fire Department will be going door-to-door on N. Hills Dr. as part of our Smoke Detector Canvas.
We’ll be checking smoke detectors, providing important fire safety information, and helping residents make sure their homes are protected.
We look forward to seeing our neighbors Wednesday evening!

Come out and watch the procession of the 9/11 Memorial as it makes its way to Norristown. Tuesday, September 1st starting at 9am!

As we approach the 25th anniversary of 9/11, Montgomery County’s 9/11 Memorial is moving from Eagleville to its new permanent home at Elmwood Park in Norristown.

The public is invited to watch as the memorial travels through Lower Providence and West Norriton to Norristown.

📍 Viewing areas: Elmwood Park, Centennial Park, and Lower Providence Fire Department

A Rededication Ceremony will take place on Friday, Sept. 11 at 10 a.m. at Elmwood Park, 1325 Harding Blvd., Norristown.

We wanted to share a quick update on the production of our new ladder truck!
Production is moving along, and as of now, we are still expecting delivery in late fall of this year.
We’re excited to see this new apparatus take shape and can’t wait to put it in service protecting our community. We’ll continue to share updates as we get closer to delivery!
