North Adams Democratic City Committee featured member: Rebecca Gleason. Rebecca was a delegate at the 2025 State Convention. She has lived in North Adams for 15 years and still learns more about Western, MA every day. You may find Rebecca walking, singing, and keeping the faith with the rhythm life’s music makes. She is excited to help the North Adams Dems make changes in the Democratic party so the party gets its "get up, stand up" back.

Join us! The North Adams Democratic City Committee will hold its caucus on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM, in person at NBCTC TV Studios, 69 Union Street, North Adams, MA.

At the caucus, registered and pre-registered Democrats in North Adams will gather to elect delegates and alternates to represent the city at the 2026 Massachusetts Democratic Convention, and to connect with fellow Democrats in the community.

All Democrats are welcome to attend, and first-time participants are encouraged. To vote or run for delegate or alternate, you must be a registered or pre-registered Democrat. Eligible voters who are not yet registered as Democrats may register at the caucus.

Ross Jacobs, the Chair of the North Adams Democratic City Committee, was elected by the Massachusetts Democratic State Committee to their Judicial Council last week. The Judicial Council is a five member body that mostly hears appeals of members of any town, ward, city, and state committee who have been removed for cause. The election took place at the Democratic State Committee quarterly meeting in Holyoke. Ross was the only candidate from Western, MA and faced a highly competitive slate. We are so proud of Ross and feel grateful that he is representing North Adams at the state level!

The experience, as a member, as a delegate to the Democratic State Convention, and then as Chair of the committee, gave me a sense of community and of connection, and literally inspired me to run for Governor’s Council. It was seeing and interacting with the amazing people who were running for office and working to make positive change that inspired me to run.”

This Saturday, 5/10, at 11:00am at the Clark Biscuit Apartments Community Room at 179 Ashland St, the North Adams Democratic City Committee will be holding its annual caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts State Democratic Convention in Springfield this September.

Registration begins at 10:30am and the meeting will begin promptly at 11am.

Any registered or pre-registered Democrat in the city, regardless of whether or not they are a member of the Committee, is eligible to attend, vote, and run for a delegate spot. Each of the city's five wards shall elect two gender-balanced delegates and up to two alternates.

Hi everyone--

Hope everyone's blood pressure is holding steady.

Join us this afternoon at the corner of Main and Marshall Streets in North Adams this afternoon at 3:30 to stand out for VP Harris and the rest of the Democratic ticket. Some are running unopposed, but please remember to support the following Democratic candidates that will be on your ballot on Tuesday:

President/VP: Kamala Harris/Tim Walz
US Senator: Elizabeth Warren
US Rep: Richard Neal
Councillor 8th District: Tara Jacobs
State Sen Berk/Ham/Frank/Ham: Paul Mark
State Rep 1st Berkshire: John Barrett III
Berkshire Clerk of Courts: Lisa Denault-Viale
North Berkshire Register of Deeds: Maria Ziemba

And the following ballot questions:

1. Allow Auditor to audit state legislature (YES to allow, NO to disallow)
2. Remove MCAS graduation requirement (YES to remove, NO to retain)
3. Allow contract drivers to unionize (YES to allow, NO to disallow)
4. Legalize psilocybin (YES to allow, NO to disallow)
5. Increase hourly wage for tipped workers (YES to raise, NO to remain)

A reminder that the NADCC officially endorsed a YES vote on question 4 at our June meeting.

We will have some Harris, Warren, and Jacobs signs,and I know Ms Denault-Viale and Ms Ziemba have some signs too and we would welcome them to join us this afternoon or at least drop off some signs for this standout. I believe Joe O also has some Yes on 4 signs.

Also, for tomorrow, if you have some free time during polling hours (7am-8pm), join us at St Elizabeth's church to show your support. See you this afternoon and again tomorrow!

Hey local Dems! We have a bunch of Harris Walz signs left (two cardboard, two hard plastic and about 10 rolled up plastic ones )— I have heard about more sign stealing going on so if you need a replacement sign for this last weekend, let me know! And bring your sign out Monday afternoon for a North Adams standout, and to the polls on Tuesday (properly distanced, of course!)

REMINDERS and MORE LAWN SIGNS:

We are standing out on the corner of Main and Marshall St (outside City Hall) on Friday, Nov 1st at 4:30 and again Monday, Nov 4th at 3:30, in support of Democratic candidates up and down the ballot. We will have Harris/Walz, Elizabeth Warren, and other signs available for people to display.

Thanks to Dick and Sheri we have a bunch of new Harris/Walz signs available from the MassDems coordinated campaign office, and these are free for the taking. Message us here and we will find a way for you to get hands on for the home stretch.

Hi folks! Just got word of a fun event at the Old Stone Mill Center Zero Waste Maker Space on Rt 8 in Adams. They're making Harris for President T-shirts and buttons and other craft items until 4 today and again next Sunday. Go down and get your craft on and help the cause!
