The North Andover Fire Department provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the Town of North Andover. A suburban community located in Essex County, North Andover is 26.6 sq. miles and has a population of approximately 32,000. We not only have a residential base, we also have commercial and indus

trial sections, 2 state forests (Harold Parker and Boxford State forest), Merrimack College, Lawrence Municipal Airport and routes 495, 125 and 114. We respond to approximately 4,100 emergency calls for service annually. The Town is protected from two fire stations that house 3 Engines, 1 Ladder, 1 Brush Truck and 3 Ambulances. The department consists of 57 full time members who are also trained as EMTs.

Today we remember a devoted father, firefighter, and brother who gave so much to his family, his department, and his community. One year later, his memory continues to live on through the lives he touched, the service he gave, and the love he shared.

His dedication and sacrifice will never be forgotten. We honor not only the firefighter he was, but the incredible man behind the badge.

Another legacy joins the ranks of the North Andover Fire Department. FFOP Blake Adams begins his career following in his grandfather’s footsteps. Firefighter Blake Adams Sr. served the department in the 1970’s until his retirement in the late 1990’s. We wish FFOP Blake Adams a long and healthy career.

Today, the members of the Methuen Fire Department are attending the funeral services for Lieutenant James McLachlan. In their absence, the North Andover Fire Department along with several surrounding communities are proudly providing station coverage and emergency response support for the City of Methuen.

The fire service is a brotherhood and sisterhood built on service, sacrifice, and standing together in times of need. Today, we are honored to support our brothers and sisters in Methuen as they gather to remember and celebrate Lieutenant McLachlan’s life and service.
