The North Andover Police Department would like to recognize our Community Support Department and Community Support Coordinator Crystal Clunie.

Crystal has worked with North Andover Police since 2021, and is an instrumental member of our team. She serves as the Departmentโ€™s Mental Health Clinician, and is a licensed Clinical Social Worker, staffing the Community Support Department alongside Francia Tejeda, our Community Support Case Manager.

Crystal responds to scenes in the most difficult of circumstances, including deaths, mental health crises, and more, and connects individuals and families with resources to facilitate a โ€œwarm handoff.โ€ These supports include therapy services, detox placements, housing assistance, and food insecurity resources.

Francia supports these operations by following up with individuals. She guides them through applications for services, ensuring they are supported through what can be an overwhelming and frustrating process.

While Crystal spends most of her time with the Police Department, she also works closely with the Fire Department, all Town Departments, and local community organizations such as AgeSpan, Greater Lawrence Community Action, and shelters and local churches to help connect the community with the proper resources.

Crystal previously worked with the Town in the Veteransโ€™ Service Office, where she assisted veterans with housing instability, mental health and substance misuse concerns, food insecurity, and employment support.

The North Andover Police Department is grateful to have Crystal and Francia working within our Community Support Department to ensure our community is supported through its most challenging moments.

Thank you, Crystal and Francia, for all that you do.

PHOTO: General George S. Patton Jr. at Patton Homestead, Hamilton, MA, June 1945. This was to be the General's last visit home because six months later he died in a German hospital from car accident injuries. The Portuguese (or Spanish) cannon, which dates back to the seventeenth century, washed ashore on a Moroccan beach after Operation Torch. Patton sent it home to his children to ward off pirates from their pond. See it July 18th!
