• Any firework that leaves the ground or explodes

✅Legal Fireworks in NJ:
• Sparklers
• Ground-based fountains
• Snakes
• Smoke devices
• Other approved novelty items

Illegal fireworks can lead to injuries, fires, property damage, and potential fines. Celebrate responsibly and always follow New Jersey law.

Don’t forget about our four-legged friends! Many animals are highly sensitive to the loud noises associated with fireworks. To help keep pets calm and safe:
• Keep pets indoors
• Close windows and blinds
• Play calming music or the TV
• Provide a quiet, secure space

For those who don't know the story, it is quite interesting and amazing how things have changed over the years.

On September 22, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared that all enslaved people in the Confederate states are now free.

The word spread very slowly back then, so it wasn't until June 19, 1865, that the news finally reached it's final location of Galveston, Texas, where people were still enslaved, and now learned of their freedom.

Each June19teenth, we honor the journey to freedom, and celebrate liberty for all Americans. 🇺🇸

Wishing our good friends at Cali Carting a HAPPY GLOBAL GARBAGE MAN DAY

June 17th, 2026 is Global Garbage Man Day, when we encourage others to take the time to recognize the dedicated efforts of the men and women who keep our communities clean.



Recognizes the experts who collect the garbage, recyclables, and castoffs from our homes and neighborhoods. Whether they are sanitation specialists or waste management professionals, we appreciate their arrival on a regularly scheduled basis.

On behalf of myself and the Borough Council, I would like to pass along our deepest condolences to the Balwierczak Family.

Earlier today, a North Arlington resident and my current political opponent, John Balwierczak, lost his mother (Marie) unexpectedly.

From my own experience, losing a family member is always difficult, but losing a Mother is an eternal void.

May she rest in eternal peace and may the family overcome this loss and fully heal.
