The Messenger Public Library serves a diverse population of residents and offers its users access to more than 100,000 books, magazine titles, DVDs, CDs, and online databases. We are a member of the SWAN consortium, and support the sharing of resources. Cultural, educational and informative programs are presented in a variety of formats. The public library represents the wide diversity of viewpoin
ts and needs of all of our users. Patrons are encouraged to value the mission of the public library in serving all of our residents. The Library adheres to the Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read, and the ALA Code of Ethics. We support freedom of thought, freedom of use, and users are encouraged to make their own choices about selections for themselves or for their family. Social media is valuable for communicating information about Library-related topics and events. Social media also supports engaging to promote the Library’s mission, services, and resources about Messenger Public Library (MPL). MPL reserves the right to remove or moderate content from Library-sponsored social media if it:
• Violates any local, state, or federal law
• Is obscene or harassing; discrimination, racial, targeting
• Contains personal or private information
• Is not in accordance with the Code of Conduct
• Contains commercial, proselytizing, or campaign content
