It is with great pride that we announce a new EMS collaboration of the North Bay Fire District and the Vienna Fire District. Over the past year both entities have been working together with the State EMS, County EMS, Medical Director, Fire Chiefs, and Fire Districts to come up with a plan to offer both Districts residents ALS (advanced life support)and BLS (Basic life support) EMS services as a combined group. North Bay has had a ALS/BLS rescue for many many years and had provided that level of service and Vienna has been a BLS agency for many years, with this joined effort, now approved by the state and local governing body's, Vienna can now utilize there ALS members with North Bays Rescue on scene and provide that upper level of care and ALS interventions just like North Bay Providers can for everyone. And North Bay can also utilize Vienna on our scenes if we need a ALS provider at one of our calls and ours are not available at that time. It's been alot of work by each Department to get this rolling and we would like to thank North Bay FD EMS Captain and Paramedic Christopher Smith for heading this initiative up and making sure we can give the utmost care to each and everyone of us. So if you hear an upper level EMS call go out in Vienna or North Bay a classification of a D-David call or E-Edward call you will hear both Departments toned as well as the appropriate Ambulance for that area and the best care that can be had will be headed that way. Our prayers go out and wishes for a speedy recovery to the 3 members and the Fire Chief of the Boonville Fire Company as well as the Pastor of the Abundant Life Church after a Explosion from a gas leak sent them all to a area Hospital. Please keep them all in your thoughts and prayers.

Today, Director of Emergency Services Fran Manfredo proudly appointed North Bay Fire Department Fire Chief Joe Matthews as Deputy Fire Coordinator for Zone 4.

Chief Matthews brings a wealth of experience and is a highly respected leader within the fire service. His knowledge and dedication will be a tremendous asset in this role.

We at North Bay FD are very proud of our Fire Chief Joseph Matthews as he completed his term as President of the Oneida County Fire Chiefs Association last evening. Chief Matthews was proud to install the new officers for the Chiefs association at the annual banquet held last evening at 5 points Irish public house in Utica NY. He was also honored to present awards to a few Fire and Rescue Departments for there amazing devotion to there respective communities. Great Job by all.
