❤️ Tonight was about so much more than celebrating the completion of a construction project. It was about celebrating North Bend and the people who make this community special!

What an incredible evening in downtown North Bend as we came together to celebrate the completion of Phase Two of our Visitor Information Center Master Plan!

Seeing neighbors gathering, friends reconnecting, families enjoying themselves, and our downtown filled with music and activity was a wonderful reminder of why investments like this matter.

We've talked a lot about creating a community gathering place, but tonight we got to experience what that really means.

Welcome to The Hub. Your town square. Your gathering place. Your North Bend.

This space was designed to welcome visitors, celebrate our history, support downtown businesses, and, perhaps most importantly, give the people of North Bend a place to come together. A place where you can meet a friend, enjoy a concert, attend a community event, or simply spend time enjoying the community we call home.

And we have so many people to thank!

Our City Council, past and present, for believing in this vision. Our dedicated City staff, whose persistence and hard work helped turn an idea into reality. Our architects, contractors, grant partners, community organizations, and everyone who contributed their time, talent, and resources to make this possible.

A special thank-you to T-Mobile, Travel Oregon, AARP, the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development, and our many supporting partners for helping us secure the resources to bring this project to life.

And what a wonderful way to celebrate our history, with Oregon's historic Merci Boxcar and North Bend's beautifully restored 1937 Federal Fire Engine now part of this special place. Thank you to the veterans, volunteer firefighters, and everyone who helped preserve these treasures for future generations.

To North Bend Main Street, Border Patrol, our downtown businesses, volunteers, and everyone who helped make tonight's celebration and Sip 'n' Stroll such a success, thank you! You reminded us what happens when a community comes together.

There is still more to come, including landscaping, additional amenities, and public art. But tonight, we got a glimpse of what this space can become.

The City may have built The Hub, but it's the people of North Bend who will give it life.

So come back. Bring your family. Meet a neighbor. Support a downtown business. Make some memories.

And the next time you're making plans with someone, perhaps you'll simply say, "Meet me at The Hub!"

That's when we'll know we've created something truly special.

Proud of our community. Grateful for everyone who made this possible. And excited about what comes next for North Bend! ❤️

🚐 GUESS WHO FOUND HER WAY TO NORTH BEND — AND OREGON’S ADVENTURE COAST?

Earlier this week, adventure traveler and content creator Nikki Delventhal and her traveling crew rolled through our corner of the Oregon Coast — and they did a lot more than simply pass through.

If you follow or outdoor travel, you may already know Nikki. She has explored more than 55 countries and spent years traveling and living on the road — first in a 2006 Toyota Prius, later a truck, and now a 4×4 adventure van with her rescue dogs, Camper and Rodney Valentine “RV.”

And this week, North Bend and Coos Bay made the itinerary. 🌲🌊

It was in the City of North Bend - Oregon — where an ordinary van-life chore turned into one of the more uniquely North Bend experiences imaginable.

🧺 Laundry. At Tiny’s Tavern. With a game of pool while you wait. 🎱

Nikki summed it up pretty well:

“Usually laundry day is just staring at a laundromat wall for hours… This is a laundry concept I can get down with! Pool while washing!”

But what she discovered at Tiny’s Tavern on Union Avenue is about much more than laundry.

Tiny’s has a history that stretches through generations of North Bend life. One of the best-known chapters belongs to Evelyn Bucher, who owned and operated the tavern from 1956 until her death in 2010 — an extraordinary 54 years.

Stories preserved about Evelyn and Tiny’s tell of a tavern serving generations of local loggers, fishermen and neighbors; the unmistakable carpeted walls; a laundromat incorporated into the business; and Evelyn’s deep involvement in the community.

She sponsored bowling, baseball, softball and pool teams, participated in local service organizations and became such a fixture that her legacy remains part of Tiny’s story today.

In other words, Nikki may have gone in looking for a washing machine — but she stumbled into a little piece of North Bend history.

And North Bend made another appearance in her video.

🎨 Look closely and you’ll see the colorful mural on the historic Odd Fellows Building in downtown North Bend, created by artist Simon Whiteowl.

Nikki also shared that the crew found a place to legally park overnight while visiting North Bend — another part of what life on the road looks like when you’re exploring America one community at a time.

Before becoming a full-time adventure traveler, Nikki was a Wilhelmina NY model, NFL cheerleader and celebrity hairstylist. Today, she shares outdoor adventures and off-the-beaten-path destinations with followers around the world. She also founded Camper Cares, which helps animals, families and foster organizations with veterinary expenses.

And this week, one of those off-the-beaten-path destinations happened to be our home.

That sounds like a pretty authentic visit to Oregon's Adventure Coast: Coos Bay, North Bend, Charleston.

Thanks for stopping by, Nikki and crew! We’re glad you found us — and we hope the road brings you back again someday. 🐾🌲🌊
