I found this abandoned American Robin nest with two unhatched eggs and one hatched in the park. I'm not sure why the nest was abandoned, but the fact that the shell still in the nest does not bode well for either the adult or the chick.

It's o.k. to touch some of the wildlife, like this Western Toad, as long as you are gentle.
