Mayor Miller proclaims September as ๐‡๐ฎ๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ซ ๐€๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ก.

โ€œHunger Action Month is an opportunity to inspire our community to take meaningful action by volunteering, donating, advocating, supporting local food initiatives, reducing food waste, and investing in solutions that expand access to nutritious food,โ€ she said.

The Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank (SVFB) is a nonprofit dedicated to advancing local food security, working in partnership with North Bend and neighboring cities, school districts, healthcare providers, farms, and more to ensure everyone has access to nutritious food and essential resources.

North Bend's Economic Development Commission invites you to join them at City Hall for coffee and connection on Wednesday, September 9, 10 to 11 AM.

This month's meeting will feature Tyler Fast, owner of North Bend Golf Club! Open now for over one year in the Historic District of Downtown North Bend, Tyler will share his advice as a new business owner growing here in town.

The EDC created the event with the goal of strengthening local networks, fostering collaboration, and amplifying positive events and entrepreneurism throughout the North Bend community.

The Starfish Roundabout project (RAB), at the intersection of North Bend Way and NW 8th St, is on track to enter its second phase of construction.

โš  Starting Thursday, September 10, crews from Active Construction, Inc. will remove existing road striping, adding new temporary striping to aid traffic flow.
โš  By Monday, September 14, lanes will shift to allow for the build-out of the RAB.

In this next phase, residents will see a large portion of the RAB construction, including the center island.

โš  During this time, traffic will be shifted to the north along North Bend Way. North Bend Way will serve as a two-lane road along the north side, now widened to accommodate this shift in traffic.
โš  Drivers turning west onto NW 8th St will use the new access road crews have built out to safely accommodate RAB construction.

The RAB project is expected to wrap up by Spring 2027.

In 2027, a secondary transportation project, the South Fork Extension Bypass, will connect SR 202 to the Starfish RAB. The two projects in tandem will reduce truck traffic downtown, and it will incorporate the undergrounding of powerlines in the area.

UPDATE, as of 9:30 AM, Sept. 3: NB Police Dept/King County Sheriff's Office reports the following overview of the Sept. 2 incident: Deputies were dispatched to Safeway, responding to a shoplifting call, about 7:15 PM. One of the loss prevention officers said he was cut during a brief struggle with the suspect who ran off. A K9 unit and a drone were deployed to search for the suspect, but he was not located and at this time there have been no arrests.

UPDATE, as of 9:25 PM, Sept. 2: Police report that tracking is complete at this time. Mountain Valley Shopping Center shops should be opening back up, dependent on business hours.

ORIGINAL POST: As of 8:30 PM, Sept. 2, residents may notice police activity at and near the Mountain Valley Shopping Center where Safeway is located, at 460 SW Mt Si Blvd. The shopping complex is currently closed while police track a robbery suspect.

Please join elected officials, North Bend-Snoqualmie American Legion Post 79, and community at North Bend City Hall on ๐…๐ซ๐ข๐๐š๐ฒ, ๐’๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ, for a Remembrance Ceremony commemorating 25 years since the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center towers in New York City, the attack at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to retake control of the plane.

North Bend City Hall is located at 920 SE Cedar Falls Way. Community will gather outside to remember reflect, and connect, near the American flag, at 11 a.m.
