The Arlington Fire dept was toned out at 2 pm for a smoke condition in Sandgate. While responding we saw smoke on top of a mountain. Do to not being able to access with brush trucks we called in mutual aid for atv's, utv's and available manpower threw the county and nearby New York depts.
Shushan NY,
Rupert VT,
Manchester VT,
Shaftsbury Vt,
Bennington Rural and Bennington Village all came with equipment and manpower to assist us. Bennington Rural also provided a cover truck in our station.
We would like to thanks all of them for the help today.
While the fire was only approximately 10 acers burned, getting there was the challenge.
Also thank you to to Arlington rescue for standing by as well as the ladies that supplied us with drinks and pizza...
