The firefighting community is mourning the loss of three members tonight. We join them in remembering their lives. There are no words adequate enough.

Please know you are not alone. It’s ok to not be ok. We are here.

Within just 13 short days, Massachusetts has tragically lost three members of the fire service.

Our hearts are with these three firefighters, their families, friends, communities, and fellow firefighters in Marshfield, Quincy, and Taunton.

The pressures and demands placed on firefighters in today’s world are significant, and the struggles are real. Behind the uniform is a person, and sometimes that person is fighting a battle that others cannot see.

Don’t be ashamed. It’s OK not to be OK.

We all have demons to battle. You don’t have to fight them alone.

Talk to someone. Reach out. Ask for help. Look out for one another.

We owe it to each other to make sure no firefighter has to face these battles alone. ❤️‍🩹🚒

We are sure you’ve noticed the hazy conditions outside and the faint smell of smoke. Rest assured, nothing in town is burning! The haze and smoke are directly related to the wildfires in the Midwest and Canada. That being said…

“The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has issued an Air Quality Alert for Fine Particulates, until midnight EDT tonight.

An Air Quality Alert day means that Fine Particulates concentrations within the region may approach or exceed levels that are Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.

Air is unhealthy for sensitive children and adults, such as those with asthma, lung or heart disease, and older adults. Sensitive children and adults should limit prolonged outdoor activity.

Please be on the lookout for Elliott Blackwell. He has wondered away from his house at 308 Cutler Road. He is 5’ 8”, thin build, and suffers from dementia. We have numerous assets deployed to the area. We think he may have gone walking in the woods behind his house, but we are unsure what direction he walked towards. Please call dispatch 413-436-9595 with any information.

Good afternoon, NB! Due to a lack of utilization, the cooling center at the senior center will be closed. If a need arises tomorrow, residents are asked to call Dispatch at 508-867-1170. They will notify us of the need and we will make arrangements.
We would like to thank the North Brookfield Senior Center, the North Brookfield Board of Health, and the Board of Selectmen for their assistance.

‼️UPDATE, July 1- 12:43 p.m.: the juvenile has been located and is being transported to the hospital as a precautionary measure. He was found with his dogs.

🚨MISSING 16 YEAR OLD MALE IN MONSON🚨

Right now the best thing the public can do is to spread the word, check any sheds/outbuildings on your property, and check any cameras you may have. Pop up search parties and untrained civilians can add chaos to the organized search effort and destroy evidence!

Good afternoon, NB! In anticipation of the extreme temperatures this coming Wednesday July 1st and Thursday July 2nd, in collaboration with the Board of Selectmen and the Senior Center, a cooling center will be available for residents from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the North Brookfield Senior Center.
Should the need arise for later hours, volunteers from NBEMA will be available to staff the cooling center until 6pm.

Please bring your own snacks with you, as the food at the senior center is designated for the seniors who have signed up for lunch.
