On D-Day, June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched a massive amphibious invasion of Normandy, France, during World War II. The operation, codenamed “Operation Overlord,” involved landing over 150,000 troops, mostly from the United States, Britain, and Canada, on five beaches: Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword. The invasion was the largest naval, air, and land operation in history at the time.
No generation compares to the bravery of these young men back then, today, we honor THEM 🇺🇸
