On Tuesday Sept. 9th at approximately 1400 hours, NBFARS MAB15 was requested by City of New Brunswick Fire Department and Middlesex County OEM to respond and assist in providing rehab services while their crews and other mutual aid agencies worked on the scene of a multi dwelling structure fire at 88 Louis Street.

The multi alarm fire resulted in more than 20 displaced , with 3 firefighters sustaining minor injuries during the incident.

The fire was placed under control at around 5 pm and NBFARS crews were cleared shortly after.

On Sunday August 30th at approximately 1600 hours, at the request of Middlesex County OEM, Monmouth Junction First Aid Squad and the Monmouth Junction Vol. Fire Department, NBFARS MAB 15 responded to assist with providing rehabilitation services during a large mulch fire in Monmouth Junction.

While the fire did not pose a significant threat to nearby structures, the size and scale of the incident created smoke-related concerns for nearby residences and a potential visibility hazard for motorists traveling along US Routes 130 and 1, as well as the New Jersey Turnpike.

With multiple agencies operating on scene, MAB 15 stood by to provide firefighter and responder rehabilitation, ensuring crews had access to hydration, cooling, medical monitoring, and a place to recover as MAB 15 also serves as a conditioned space, throughout the prolonged operation.

MAB 15 was released by Middlesex County OEM at approximately 0100 hours as the incident began to wind down. Fire crews, however, continued operations well into the night as they worked to fully extinguish the fire.

Trifecta Tuesday: Three resources, one mission, one team. 🚑 🚒🛠️

On Tuesday 8/11/26 at around 5 pm NBFARS members alongside North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department, North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company 1, North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company 2, North Brunswick Volunteer Fire Company 3, North Brunswick Police Department, North Brunswick Township Office of Emergency Management and mutual aid fire companies from City of New Brunswick Fire Department, Milltown Fire Department Inc, Monroe Twp Fire District #3 responded to a structure fire on Livingston Ave. NBFARS had a trifecta resource response.

Initial stages of our response was Two ambulances staged at the scene to serve as quick response units to get any injured members to the hospital quickly as well as cover North Brunswick Township NJ for any EMS calls at the time.

The initial response was augmented with MAB 15 request to stage on scene to assist in rehab of firefighters and responders with additional man power from squad members to assist.

Finally, Rescue 4 responded to assist Middlesex County Hazmat FMBA Local 100 and Township Fire Officials with some extrication tools to assist in their investigation of the cause of the fire. Just as the incident was wrapping up, NBFARS crews were able to answer two simultaneous calls for service.

Sometimes EMS has a way of bringing things full circle. ❤️🚑

On a recent emergency call, two brothers found themselves on the same scene — but in very different roles.

Ohene Offei, a former member of North Brunswick First Aid & Rescue Squad who served many years as a volunteer EMT and Rescue Tech and has gone on to become Paramedic with RWJBH Mobile Health - EMS.

Dondill Offei, who recently joined NBFARS and is now beginning his own journey in EMS.

For the first time, their paths crossed on an emergency call — brother alongside brother, each serving in their own capacity to help someone in need.

It's moments like these that remind us that the bonds formed in EMS go far beyond the calls. They become part of who we are, and sometimes, they even become a family tradition.

We couldn't be prouder to see the next generation carrying on the tradition of service. 💙🚑

A few weeks ago a handful of our volunteer squad members participated in Read Across America. Members read to 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade classes at John Adams Elementary school and a kindergarten class at Livingston Park Elementary school. We would like to thank our volunteers Capt. Choubey, EMT Juthani, EMT Poonai, Responder Nagpal, and Aux member Vinar taking the time and participating. A special thanks to John Adams Librarian Mrs. Martin and Livingston Park Principal Mr. Dawson for extending the invite to us. Our members wholly enjoyed reading to the kids and can not wait to participate again next year.
