This past Saturday, the Stark County Firefighters Association hosted its 35th Annual Service of Memorial. Members of our department were honored to participate in the candle-lighting ceremony, remembering five members of our fire department who passed away over the last year: Paula Ball, Robert Bertsch, Dennis Dutiel, Mark Fisher, and Dave Sanford.

We take great pride in honoring those who came before us. Their dedication, service, and commitment helped shape our department into what it is today, and their legacy will continue to be remembered for years to come.

The North Canton Fire Station continues to take shape as the first pieces of structural steel are set in place. This milestone marks another step forward in bringing this facility to life and supporting the first responders who serve and protect the community. Stay tuned to see this project continue to move forward!

At the Fire Prevention Week Breakfast, retired Captain Herbert "Kip" Beadle was recognized with the 2026 Legacy Award.

Captain Beadle joined NCFD in 1992, was promoted to Captain in 2005, and retired from the department in 2017. Throughout his career, along with his normal firefighter and EMT duties and working full-time at the Hoover Company, Captain Beadle was an active part of the fire prevention bureau, specializing in areas such as underground storage tank inspections, recreational burn permits, and public education.

Also recognized at the Fire Prevention Week Breakfast was Ayati Prodduturi, from Mrs. Hapstack's 4th Grade class at North Canton City Schools Intermediate School, who was awarded the "Most Creative" 4th grade Fire Prevention Week Drawing.

🚒 We had a blast at our Fire Department Open House, and we hope you all had just as much fun as we did!

Congratulations to our department members celebrating service anniversaries this month!

September ended with 385 calls, breaking the previous NCFD record for number of incidents in a single month (378 in August 2025).

While September brought our busiest month, that didn't stop our dedicated crews from continuing to train hard and better themselves for our community when not responding to calls, racking up over 230 training hours for the month.

In early September, Mayor Stroia conducted a swearing in ceremony new part-time Firefighter/EMT, Bob Paulino.

It is regrettable that it took us so long to introduce Firefighter Paulino to the community, however we are proud to have him on board serving with our department.
