North Carrollton began a paving project Monday morning overlaying George Street and Morgan Street.” These are the two streets going to J.Z. George High School, these projects make a big difference with being awarded grant funding.” North Carrollton Mayor Ken Strachan said.
The town was awarded a Delta Regional Authority Grant for the pavement project. Murphree Paving of Tupelo which had the low bid $176,071.40 was awarded the bid. “ The new paving will be a great addition with the sidewalks that was completed in 2021 with a Small Municipalities Grant and the JZG Way banners that was funding through tourism funding in 2024.” Mayor Strachan said. With weather permitting the new pavement should be completed by the end of the week according to Mayor Ken Strachan
