Charleston Digital is taking an exciting step to support our local workforce by launching the AI Academy, hosted at the Charleston Learning Center. This new community initiative opens the door for learners at every level to build practical AI skills through in‑person, community‑sourced classes and workshops.

We’re proud to celebrate Tori Simmons, Project Coordinator, on her graduation from Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Charleston — a premier 10‑month leadership experience designed to cultivate, inspire and challenge the next generation of Charleston-area leaders.

Over the year‑long program, Tori participated in hands‑on sessions that provided real-world insights into the interconnected sectors that support our region, including government, infrastructure, economic development and military.

A new study by University of South Carolina Research Economist Dr. Joseph Von Nessen highlights the cumulative impact of Charleston County Economic Development’s work since 1993, showing how businesses supported through these efforts now drive 79,241 jobs and $26.2B in annual economic activity.

That’s a wrap on Tri-County STEMersion 2026!

CCED is grateful to partner with Dorchester County Economic Development and Berkeley County Government on an immersive, hands‑on program designed to connect regional educators and counselors with the industries driving our local economy forward.

STEMersion participants visited several companies across Charleston County-- including Charles River Labs and Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. There, they gained exposure to the unique careers available in our region and the skills employers are seeking. These insights will flow directly back into classrooms, shaping the next generation of talent.
