In a coastal region where hurricanes can quickly upend daily life, preparation must begin long before a storm arrives. In those moments, families need reliable access to food, shelter, transportation, supplies and trusted information.
For ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families, one storm can quickly deepen financial pressure and make recovery harder when emergency savings are already out of reach.
We're proud to share we've received an $80,000 grant from Coastal Community Foundation to launch a coordinated disaster preparedness, response and long-term recovery effort in Charleston County. The funding supports the creation of a full-time VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster) Manager position, helping to bring local organizations and government agencies together to ensure communities recieve the right support at the right time.
Thank you, Coastal Community Foundation, for your generous support that helps our community prepare for disasters, respond quickly when needs arise and guide families through recovery.
