We are proud of our very own Division Chief Fehr from Recruitment and Outreach for leading the way in teaching Hands Only CPR across our community.

Hands Only CPR saves lives, and the best part is that anyone can do it. You do not need medical training to make a difference. All you need are your hands and the willingness to act.

Hands Only CPR Facts
• It can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival.
• Most cardiac arrests happen at home, which means you are most likely to save a family member or friend.
• The steps are simple: Call 911, then push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
• No rescue breaths are needed. Just continuous compressions.
• In public places, have someone get an AED while you continue compressions.
• The song “Stayin’ Alive” provides the perfect rhythm to follow.
• Immediate CPR is one of the most important factors in surviving sudden cardiac arrest.

Thank you Division Chief Fehr for empowering our community with lifesaving skills and strengthening CCEMS outreach.

Your hands can save a life. ❤️

🌟 Shout Out to Eric Phillips! 🌟

Please join us in celebrating Division Chief Eric Phillips, our Charleston County Government Supervisor of the First Quarter, 2026!

Division Chief Phillips is known first and foremost for the exceptional care he provides to his patients. Since joining our team in 2015, he has consistently shown dedication, strong leadership, and a genuine commitment to delivering the best care possible. His humor and steady presence continue to make a meaningful impact on everyone around him.

Division Chief Phillips demonstrated exceptional care in a complex situation in which locating a critical patient seemed impossible. His grit, dedication, and determination stood out as he pressed on despite early misleading information. His actions provided the crucial time needed to successfully locate, rescue, and transport the patient.

In a profession where people often face heavy moments, Eric continues to be a steady source of positivity. He finds humor in dark moments, and he is the person who proves that laughter truly is medicine. He lifts his team and brings comfort to the patients he serves.

His wife Brooke shared that outside of work, Eric enjoys backpacking and aquascaping. Most people are not entirely sure what aquascaping is, but everyone agrees that if someone on the team is doing it, it is probably Eric. Together with their four children and two cats, they love hiking and riding rollercoasters as a family.

Congratulations, Division Chief Phillips, and thank you for your outstanding service and leadership!
