You might notice a fun trend happening here at CCEMS. Many of our EMT Academy students who began their journey with us as civilians are not only earning their EMT certification, but are also taking full advantage of continuing education opportunities and achieving their Paramedic certification. Watching them grow from new students to advanced providers is one of the many things that makes working for CCEMS truly special. 🚑✨

We anticipate even more EMT Academy graduates continuing on to earn their Paramedic certification. We also hope our current EMT Academy students see this progress, feel encouraged by it, and choose their own path of growth toward becoming Paramedics in the future. 📚🌟

This is what investing in people looks like.
This is what internal growth looks like.
This is Healthcare Excellence in Motion. ❤️
We care — always.

Choose your path. Build your future. Serve your community.

🎉 Celebrating Ty Jeffcoat! 🎉

Ty joined CCEMS in 2023 as part of our first-ever EMT Academy Class, bringing enthusiasm, humor, and a genuine passion for learning. If you know Ty, you know he is hard to miss, both for his height and for the presence he brings to any room.

Ty committed himself fully to advancing in EMS. Instead of stopping to test for AEMT, he continued learning the material and focused on preparing for Paramedic certification. Today, we are proud to celebrate that Ty has officially passed his NREMT Paramedic exam.

Ty has a strong interest in teaching and hopes to one day return to the EMT Academy in an instructional role. His passion for helping others learn and his drive to share knowledge make this a meaningful goal.

Ty, congratulations on passing your Paramedic Exam. Your hard work, your determination, and your go big or go home spirit have carried you to this moment. Your future is bright, your impact will be even bigger, and we are excited to see where your journey leads. 🚑✨

🎉 Celebrating Sydney Lee! 🎉

Sydney joined CCEMS in 2023 as part of our very first EMT Academy Class. From the beginning, she brought determination, curiosity, and a strong commitment to learning. After three years of dedicated service as an EMT Basic, we are proud to announce that Sydney has officially passed her NREMT Paramedic exam.

Sydney grew up in a first responder household, surrounded by examples of service and community support. That environment shaped her desire to help others, and her love for community outreach made EMS a natural fit. She has always looked for ways to give back, and she brings that same heart and compassion into every call she answers.

Sydney’s journey reflects her drive to grow, her willingness to work hard, and her passion for serving her community. Her achievement strengthens our department and highlights the importance of investing in the development of those who choose this path.

Sydney, congratulations on passing your exam. You have shown resilience, dedication, and a true commitment to this profession. Your future is bright, and we are excited to see everything you accomplish in this next chapter. 🚑✨

🔥 EXTREME HEAT ALERT 🔥
The National Weather Service has issued an Extreme Heat Warning until 8 PM tonight and an Extreme Heat Watch from Friday morning through Friday evening.
We’re looking at dangerously hot heat index values between 112–120° across SC.

As families settle into the first couple of weeks of school, please take a moment to double-check that everyone is where they are supposed to be. The morning rush is real, and in this extreme heat it is essential to make sure children are safely dropped off and not still in the car. Vehicle interiors can reach dangerous temperatures within minutes.

Stay cool, stay safe, and best of luck to all families adjusting to the back‑to‑school routine. The heat is strong, but you’ve got this. 🌞📚

It was an honor for CCEMS to join National, State, and Military leaders today as Joint Base Charleston was officially renamed Joint Base Lindsey Graham in honor of our late Senator.

Chief Way, Deputy Chief Cooney, Paramedic Z. Jawish, and Paramedic Wilder supported the protective details for the attending dignitaries, helping ensure a safe and memorable event for all.

CCEMS values its GREAT relationship with our military partners and today was another great example of working together for our community. ❤️🤍💙

Meet Our CCEMS EMT Academy Class 🚑📚

Charleston County EMS is proud to spotlight our current CCEMS EMT Academy students as they continue their intensive training journey.

The Charleston County EMS Academy is an innovative earn‑while‑you‑learn program that combines classroom education, hands‑on simulations, and real‑world scenario training. Throughout the program, students build essential knowledge and practical skills to prepare for the National Registry EMT exam.

Our students are fully engaged in the curriculum and are gaining the confidence, capability, and teamwork needed to serve the Charleston County Community as future EMTs. After completing the program and successfully passing their exams, they will transition to advanced training that further prepares them for their operational roles, becoming fully certified and ready to make an impact.

The CCEMS EMT Academy continues to serve as a leading model for workforce development and a pathway for those passionate about emergency medical services.

Join us as we cheer on our CCEMS EMT Academy students while they move closer to achieving their goals. This is Healthcare Excellence in Motion.
