This week’s intern experience was one for the books!

Our interns toured the State House and visited the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia. They also flew in CCSO's Air One, joined deputies for ride‑alongs, and wrapped up with workouts led by the CCSO Training Unit.

We’re proud of their enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication throughout the week!

Chief Deputy Christopher Rosier and Lieutenant Stephen Kudron recently attended the 7th Annual Co‑Responders Conference in Dallas, Texas, hosted by the International Co‑Responder Alliance and PARRI.

They presented alongside Sean Varano of CIMS on how real‑time overdose tracking is making a positive impact in the Charleston area. The conference brought together professionals from across the country to share best practices and advance innovative approaches to substance use, overdoses, and mental health response.

Through collaboration and specialized training, Chief Rosier and Lieutenant Kudron gained valuable insights to further strengthen non‑arrest deflection programs, expand community partnerships, and enhance the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to compassionate, community‑focused public safety.
