A fitting salute to a Naval Aviator, who deferred going to Yale to join the Navy on his 18th Birthday.

He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for pressing on to his target, and hitting it, after his aircraft was damaged by enemy fire.

His life of service is an example to everyone, including this Carrier Aviator, who he sent in combat in 1991.

This has profound implications for many of us.

As I look at my benefits, the GI Bill has incredible value. I was fortunate enough to qualify for 100% during my Active Duty. I was able to transfer it to my children back in 208, when first eligible to do so.

My youngest is going to a very good, private, and expensive, school without loans thanks to this benefit.
