Did I need to do this with Urban Tree coming next week?

No.

But, did I have a well thought out exit plan once the deed was done?

Mmm... no.

But... didn't I still expertly remove the Neighborhood Ugly Bush with skill, efficiency and extreme prejudice?

Still no. Well, maybe the last...

One thing I *did* do?

CROSSED THE ALBATROSS OFF THE LIST!

Anyone have any ideas for that corner besides grass seed? Hopefully Urban can pull or grind the stump/remnants, I didn't want to hopelessly ground my saw chipping it up. Otherwise I'll take a maul to it next week to finish the job.

Virtual Kidnapping Scams | Mass Consumer Affairs Blog

Hey Springhilleans - not the funnest of topics, but please do stay vigilant and aware of the nastiness in the world. Another awful scam recently has reared it's ugly head, the Virtual Kidnapping Call. In addition to remembering to stay on top of things you share on social media (don't list phone numbers, keep your profiles private, etc.), here are a couple of quick links to bring folks up to speed. I would also say to pay attention to some of these tips given in the Today reference:

-----------------
Payton recommends people take some steps before, during and after to protect themselves from this hoax.

Have a family secret code word: “Get a secret code word with your family that people can’t guess on social media. So say ‘If you have my kid, tell my kid to tell me the secret code word.’ Most of the time if it’s a scam they are not going to know the secret code word,” Payton said.

Have them slow down: Stall. Tell them you can’t hear them. Ask if you can call them back. Keep them talking. Scams like this fail as soon as the would-be target realizes their loved one is safe.

Contact the victim: As you keep the person talking, text the alleged victim to see if they are OK. Because the scammer is only changing the caller ID and does not have the victim’s real phone, your loved one can respond.

Report it: “Absolutely you should report it,” Payton said. People should report virtual kidnappings threats to:

The Internet Crime Complaint Center
The Federal Communication Commission
The Federal Trade Commission"

Virtual kidnapping scams aren’t just terrifying; they can be costly. A virtual kidnapping scam occurs when a scammer calls your number and tells you he has kidnapped your loved one. The scammer threatens injury or worse unless the victim pays a ransom.

Hi SH folks! Hope everyone continues to survive the COVID situation as best they can. Just wanted to broadcast a heads up that it looks like we may have a recurrence of mud wasps at the edge of the oval-about (that term is now patent-pending) coming up Whitman's Brook Drive from Elm. I was taking a quick walk and there were a few dozen flying over the grass, rather agitated at the moment. I'd avoid the area for a spell, and watch your pups!

The Girls of the Legendary Springhill Gang are doing their best to support the Moreau Hall Parent Advisory Council - PAC by having a lemonade stand at the gazebo after school today, around 4PM! Suggested donations are $1 for lemonade, $.50 for brownies and $.25 for cookies. Let's give 'em a hand and BE THE DIFFERENCE!!!

Hey Springhill...Halloween party is Saturday. And yes - we wear costumes.... :)
Just after 1:00 PM on Saturday the Easton MA Fire Department responded to Eastwood Dr for a possible fire. First arriving companies found heavy smoke and fire. A working fire was declared followed quickly by a second alarm bringing companies to work and cover from all surrounding cities and towns. Mansfield Emergency Management Agency Rehab team was dispatched and headed out with Assistant Director Papagno along with LT.’s Breef-Pilz and Sandstrum. They were met later on scene by LT. Falcon and Specialist Nardone. Assistant Director Papagno coordinated with Easton’s Safety officer to insure all companies rotated through the rehab sector. While on scene the team distributed copious amounts of Gatorade and water. Also cold towels and electrolyte freeze pops were a big hit on the fire ground as temperatures climbed well on the 70’s for the first time this year. We were released at 3:30 and returned to quarters to clean and restock. Mansfield EMA would like to extend out thanks to the Springhill Estate neighbors who helped supply our efforts with extra ice and fluids.
