Bayshore Fire is proud to receive $5,000 through the Preferred TIPS Matching Training Incentive Program offered by the Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust.

This reimbursement grant helps PGIT members invest in safety, training, and risk-management initiatives that protect employees, reduce workplace injuries, and strengthen overall operations. These funds will support our continued commitment to firefighter health, safety, and readiness.

We sincerely appreciate PGIT’s investment in our personnel and the important work they perform every day. Partnerships like this help ensure our firefighters have the training and resources needed to safely serve our community.

🐾❤️ A Tiny Survivor, A Big Reminder ❤️🐾

While battling a recent brush fire, Bayshore Fire Rescue firefighters discovered an unexpected little victim—a young bobcat kitten alone in the burn area. Thanks to the quick actions and compassionate hearts of first responders, the kitten was safely rescued and transported for specialized wildlife care. The kitten is now receiving treatment and has a chance to recover and hopefully return to the wild.

At Bayshore Fire Rescue, protecting lives doesn't stop with people. Whether it's a family, a pet, livestock, or Florida wildlife, our firefighters are committed to serving and protecting all life whenever possible.
This tiny bobcat may not understand what happened that day, but because someone took the time to care, its story now has a hopeful ending. 🐾

The Lee County Government Board of County Commissioners has officially lifted the countywide burn ban that has been in place following recent rainfall and improving drought conditions.

Although the Lee County burn ban has been lifted, Southwest Florida still needs additional rainfall and wildfire conditions can quickly return. If you choose to burn yard debris, please follow all Florida Forest Service safety requirements and setback guidelines.

• Burn only yard waste
• Keep piles under 8 feet in diameter
• Stay at least 25 feet from structures and woods
• Never burn on windy or excessively dry days
• Keep water or suppression equipment nearby at all times

Human activity remains the leading cause of brush fires in Florida. Please burn responsibly and help protect our community.
