Make sure to check your local Ordinances and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources WIS Burn - https://apps.dnr.wi.gov/wisburn/ #/ or 1-888-WIS-BURN (947-2876) every time before you burn! And call the Sauk County Sheriff's Office non-emergency dispatch if your fire will produce a significant amount of smoke!
*There is no burn ban in effect as of 7/15/26 - 9:00 AM - just sharing this informationally to help with wildfire prevention 🤩*

Check local fire restrictions before lighting campfires or using grills. Whether it be a local park, campground, or your own backyard make sure that there are no active burn bans or elevated fire risks.

Keep pets away from grills and fire pits. Cooking food and leftover grease can be an attractive scent. Grills can be knocked over easily and embers can ignite the nearby grass and vegetation.
