Units quickly went to work to extinguish the fire. Fire was contained to one unit. Three units had minor smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported by firefighters or civilians. Incident was under control at 1830hrs.

The fire is currently being investigated by the Thompson Fire Marshals Office.

The response from all requesting departments was impeccable, their ability to interact with each other was a true statement of how the continuum of the fire service does not change throughout any situation and that we are all here for our community members no matter where we are needed. The West Thompson Fire Department would like to thank all the men and women that came to assist with today’s structure fire. A true testament to the emergency service family.
This incident serves as an important reminder that fire can spread rapidly and without warning. We urge all residents to ensure working smoke alarms are installed on every level of their home, practice a home escape plan, and never hesitate to call 911 in an emergency.
