Today, members of North Hampton Fire & Rescue and North Hampton Police Department were honored to attend the Memorial Day ceremony hosted at North Hampton School.

Memorial Day is a time to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We are grateful to our community for coming together to recognize and reflect on the true meaning of this day. As we spend time with family and friends, we pause to remember those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

North Hampton Fire & Rescue and mutual aid partners worked together to extinguish an early-morning fire that started in a vehicle and spread to a home.

On Sunday, April 5, at 4:12 a.m., North Hampton Fire & Rescue was called to 151 Atlantic Avenue for a report of a vehicle fire near a residence. While companies were en route, they were updated that the fire spread to the residence and that there was possibly a resident still inside.

North Hampton Fire & Rescue Engine 2 arrived at the home a short time later to discover a truck fully involved with fire that was extending into the home.

Engine 2 immediately requested a first-alarm assignment, and initiated an aggressive offensive attack on the fire while simultaneously assisting a resident who evacuated the home. The resident was determined to be uninjured.

Through the rapid actions of responding personnel, the fire was brought under control in a timely manner, significantly limiting damage to the nearby home.

The resident was able to remain in the home once the fire was out.

Firefighters from Hampton Fire/Rescue, Rye Fire & Rescue, City of Portsmouth New Hampshire Fire Department, and Greenland NH Fire Department provided mutual aid at the scene, and station coverage was provided by Seabrook Professional Fire Fighters - Local 2847 IAFF and Hampton Falls Fire Department (Official). North Hampton Police Department also assisted at the scene.

This incident highlights the strength and reliability of the Seacoast mutual aid system. The seamless coordination and immediate support from neighboring departments played a critical role in bringing this incident under control quickly and safely.

"This was a fast-moving and dangerous situation that required immediate action from our crews," said Fire Chief Jake MacGlashing. "I’m incredibly proud of the aggressive and coordinated efforts by our personnel and our mutual aid partners. Their quick response and teamwork made a direct difference in protecting life and minimizing damage to the home."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
