The beloved birds are BACK!
Every spring before we opened Birdland for the season my great grandmother would hang her bird painting from Paris above the door to the kitchen.
When my grandmother took over the restaurant she too would hang the bird painting above the kitchen door in the spring.
When my sister Bridget took over the restaurant, I realized there was no bird painting to put above the kitchendoor. So very quickly before her grand opening I painted her a bird painting to put above the kitchen door!
Lots of people at that grand opening suddenly wanted a copy of the birds too but back then it was much too expensive for the average young starving artist to have prints made.
So if someone wanted to own a copy of these birds I had to paint it for them every single time... How many times did I paint this painting... pretty sure I cannot count that high! Luckily, these prints are so gorgeous, they could be currency the paper is so very fancy! 😊
