Meet Major James Capers Jr., USMC (Ret.)
Maj. Capers is the first African American to command a Marine Reconnaissance company, and is one of the most decorated Marines in Force Recon history. He led more than 50 combat missions in Vietnam, was wounded multiple times, and earned numerous awards. He was also honored with the NCOA Vietnam War Medallion, which he has proudly worn at interviews and events. Despite multiple reviews suggesting he deserves it, Maj. Capers still hasn’t received the Medal of Honor.

How to help: Contact your representatives at congress.gov/members and urge them to support his Medal of Honor recommendation. Let’s ensure Maj. Capers, a true American hero, finally receives the recognition he’s earned.
