There are lots of books in all of the libraries, too. Be sure to stop by and check out what's on our shelves soon - and don't forget to check the Children's Library & Comic Book Library at the end of the driveway for even more book selections.

LITTLE FREE PANTRY

Your Tiny Neighborhood Library has added a Little Free Pantry to our Little Free Libraries.

A Little Free Pantry offers our community the opportunity to share non-perishable shelf-stable grocery items. The rules are very simple:

• Take what you need

• Leave what you can

* Please leave only unopened, non-perishable goods

You never have to leave a donation to take what you need.

We've added a few items to the pantry to get things started.

The Little Free Pantry is currently located on our front porch, right next to our Adult/Teen Library. Our Children's Library and Comic Book Libraries are located at the end of the driveway.

Off to a late start, but excited to start sharing all of these wonderful reads for Pride Month - and so happy to hang our beautiful new flag today!

I'm also working to get our permanent Little Free Comic Book Library finished, so we can share even more great reads.

I tidied up all 3 of our Little Free Libraries today, refreshed books, weeded & watered a bit up front by the Children's Library, and added a couple more very cool donations to our temporary Free Comic Book Library.

Hello, Friends & Neighbors!

I am very excited today to announce the "soft launch" of Your Tiny Neighborhood Library's Free Comic Book Library!💥 🤩 🦸‍♀️ 🚀

What is a Free Comic Book Library?

Great question!

It's just like any Little Free Library - but all of the free books are COMIC BOOKS!! You can take a comic book, share a comic book (leave a comic book), and you don't have to return any comic when you've finished with it, but you may, if you wish. You can pass it along to someone else who will enjoy it (for free, please, in the spirit of the Little Free Library movement), or even keep it, if you like. You don't have to leave a comic book in order to take one, so if you've finished a great comic book, and would like to pass it along, you've found the right place! 💥 🌟

Why a "soft launch?" We are still working on our permanent Free Comic Book Library, but we've got comic books, and we love to share our love of reading 📖 💗 So, until that's ready to go, we'll do our very best with this nifty little box. It's just the right size to hold a few comic books at a time.

You'll find Your Tiny Neighborhood Library's Free Comic Book Library right at the end of the driveway, in the exact same location where our original LFL started, right next to the Children's Library.

While you're here, be sure to check out some special comic-themed goodies in our Children's Library. Oh, and don't miss our brand new Adult/Teen Little Free Library on the front porch. I'll be working hard to keep everything well-stocked!

After much delay, with lots of help from my husband, the builder of our Children's Little Free Library, I am pleased to announce the Grand re-Opening of Your Tiny Neighborhood Library's adult & teen Little Free Library!!!

As you can see, there have been some changes to our Little Free Library (LFL). After taking on a lot of water damage last rainy season, our original LFL was in desperate need of restoration/repair. I started that work, and, in the meantime, inherited this much larger LFL from someone who had gotten it hoping to get it up and running, but had been unable to, and was disposing of it. It, too, needed some restoration and repair. We decided to focus our attention on it, because, well, frankly, as soon as the WWI Flying Ace saw it, he KNEW it had to be his Sopwith Camel - and who are we to argue?

It is far more spacious than our previous adult/teen LFL, so it can hold more books. We think it's cute as a button. The WWI Flying Ace and his little copilot seem cool as cucumbers up there, but we think they're fairly excited, too.

For the time being, our new adult/teen LFL is set up on our front porch, which we know if not super convenient; but our gate is always open. We do plan to relocate it close to the sidewalk. It's a bit too large to fit in the space next to our driveway (oops!).

The Children's LFL, as always, remains open, and I will get out there today to tidy it up, and refresh the books inside.

Stayed tuned - we still have some exciting plans in store for our original LFL...

Because it has been such a long time since our last update, I wanted to stop in and let everyone know what's up.

We are continuing work to restore our original Little Free Library.

In the meantime, The Children's Library remains open!
I noticed people have been leaving books for all ages in there which, under the circumstances, is understandable; but I thought I'd better give parents a heads-up about that, in case they want to assist their children in selecting books 🙂

We've had a bit of luck recently. Not all of it has been fantastic, but some has. We've had some health issues (always, right?), including a broken hand for Shane, intrepid builder of the Children's Library, followed by a knee injury, and then later a wrist injury for me (just call me "grace" ...but not really...I already have too many names). Needless to say, this slowed our progress somewhat.

Now for the GOOD News:
We have inherited a New Little Free Library! It is larger than our original Little Free Library (LFL) - but don't worry, we aren't changing our name: we will remain "Your Tiny Neighborhood Library," on the grounds that we are still tinier than the average Public Library. We are hard at work readying the new LFL for its grand opening. The original LFL will also be restored and put back to work. We have exciting plans for both. All of this means more room for more books, which we think is a win/win situation.

We thank you all for your continued patience.

Please continue to visit our Children's Library. I will be sure to announce when the new LFLs are up and running.

Dear Friends & Neighbours ~

If you have stopped by Your Tiny Neighborhood Library recently (and by that, I mean months 🫣) you have likely noticed that we are "under repair," due to water damage.

The Children's Library remains open, and I will tidy up and refresh books today.

The adult/teen library suffered water damage during our rainy season, and requires some repair/refurbishment. To complicate matters, I was ill; and now, my fearless partner in all things library-related and not, my husband, who so generously built our Children's Library, has broken his hand in several places 😞

Our spirit, however, remains unbroken!

Due to recent exciting developments, we will not only continue to operate Your Tiny Neighborhood Library, we expect it to be better than ever! We just have to work our way through a few hiccups on the way to our final vision. In the meantime, hang on tight - I will strive to keep you posted as news develops.

Hello again, friends & neighbours! With rain again on the horizon, I have emptied Your Tiny Neighborhood Library, cleaned it thoroughly, and it has been covered with a plastic bag, to protect it from further water damage.

We have not yet covered the Children's Library, but might before the rain starts, as there is already some water damage on the front. It appears to be dry inside.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We will strive to get things up and running again as quickly as possible.
