PA is safe - for now- from the mid-decade redistricting frenzy. Some of our legislators hope to change that after November 3.
In Maryland, a voice of reason argues against "they did it first" redistricting.
"We should be focused on winning by challenging our political adversaries with the power of our ideas and our commitment to deliver results that improve the lives of our people, not by attempting to redraw election district boundaries for the sole purpose of gaining a temporary partisan political advantage."

The schoolyard excuse for bad behavior, “He started it,” is the worst possible justification for amending the Maryland Constitution to perpetuate the practice of partisan gerrymandering, writes Gary Hodge, who says voters have a choice this fall.

Fair Districts PA will not be recruiting volunteers for Polling Place Outreach this November. Instead, we're encouraging our supporters and volunteers to champion democracy by serving as poll workers, poll watchers, or helping in other ways. Check out some options suggested by League of Women Voters of Bucks County, League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania, Common Cause and of Seventy Pennsylvania

"The League of Women Voters has been asking that question for 40 years, and Fair Districts PA has been asking it for the past 10. So far, more than 136,000 Pennsylvanians have answered yes."

Fair Districts PA volunteers argue that an independent redistricting commission would remove conflicts of interest by taking map-drawing power away from politicians and giving it to a balanced, transparent panel.
