Yesterday, the North Huntingdon Township Police Department was proud to participate in the Special Olympics Torch Run in support of an incredible cause and the amazing athletes of Special Olympics! 🔥💙

Representing our department were Sgt. Bauer and her furry partner K9 Ceco, along with Officer Packe, who proudly took part in the run. TCO Koelsch followed behind in the support vehicle to ensure our runners stayed safe and had everything they needed along the way.

We are honored to support the Law Enforcement Torch Run and help carry the Flame of Hope for such an inspiring organization. Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered us on, and continues to support Special Olympics and its athletes!

Hello Norwin Parents and Guardians,
Our Police Department is taking a proactive approach to keeping our streets and children safe. Recently, we have increased patrols throughout our neighborhoods and surrounding areas to address a growing concern: juveniles operating e‑bikes and dirt bikes illegally on public roadways.
We are asking parents and guardians to please monitor where and how these vehicles are being used. Pennsylvania vehicle laws prohibit anyone under the age of 16 from operating a motorized vehicle on a roadway. For additional details about vehicle definitions and regulations, please search “PA Micro Mobility.”
Please also be aware that if a juvenile is arrested for illegally operating a motorized vehicle on a roadway, parents or guardians may be charged for permitting the violation. This is not an outcome we want for anyone. Our goal is simply to prevent serious crashes and protect our community before another tragedy occurs.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Lt. Jay McCurdy
Acting Chief of Police

Last Wednesday, the 4th grade students from Queen of Angels and Norwin had the opportunity to participate in an end-of-the-year D.A.R.E. celebration at Urban Air, and the kids absolutely loved it!

This amazing event was only made possible through the generosity of Urban Air, and we can’t thank them enough for hosting such a fun and memorable day for the students. It was a great way for the kids to celebrate their achievements throughout the year and come together one last time before moving up to 5th grade.

Everyone had an absolute blast, and the smiles on the kids’ faces said it all. Thank you again, Urban Air — we can’t wait to do it again next year!
