- There are more than 200,000 Asians living in Nevada.
- There are more than 18000 Asian businesses in Nevada.
- 75% of Asians are Citizens
- 80% of Asians Speak and - Understand English.
- Asians have the least amount of public assistance in Nevada.
- Asian Buying power is more than 10 Billion and expected to grow disproportional over other communities. We h
ave 10% of the population but very little representation in community organizations & political appointed and elected offices. Asians are responsible, hardworking, intelligent, affluent, and amongst the top taxpayers of this great state and country. It is important for us to ensure that we engage ourselves in community matters and the political process which will ensure that asians are heard and we contribute to strengthening Nevada's communities and assist the State economically grow and diversify to ensure a good quality of life for ourselves and for the future generations. This will only happen if we take an interest and integrate ourselves in community matters, put service before self and educate ourselves on the choices before us, so that we can choose the right community and political leaders irrespective of party affiliations, color, cast, or creed. APA's MISSION
APA is a community development organization whose primary focus is to increase Asian participation in political & community activities, such as, but nor limited to; serving on elected & appointed positions in government, quasi government, and community organizations”
The objectives of APA are -
a) APA political activities are generally not geared towards endorsement of candidates but to create awareness and educate the Asian community on the candidates seeking political offices. We do not generally endorse, we educate. b) APA events and activites are open for partnership with all organizations that believe in its core mission and assist the Asian Community. c) APA will recruit Asians strategically as determined & recommended by its Executive Committee.
