Lt. Col. Dale Barnes, commander of the U.S. Army Reserve's 343rd Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, presides over a Change of Responsibility ceremony at Camp Pike, North Little Rock, Arkansas, on June 14, 2025. The ceremony marks the transfer of responsibility from outgoing 1st Sgt. Randall (Jay) Townsend to incoming 1st Sgt. Charlotte A. Reavis. As part of the formal tradition, Townsend passes the unit’s colors to Barnes, who then entrusts them to Reavis, symbolizing her new leadership role. The event reinforces the significance of enlisted leadership in maintaining unit discipline, morale, and mission readiness.

During the ceremony, Barnes thanked Townsend for his service, recognizing his contributions to the 343rd and the Army as he now prepares for retirement. Barnes also welcomed Reavis and charged her with leading the unit forward. Cpt. Tessa Nelson served as the ceremony narrator, while Sgt. 1st Class Abel Aungst led as the Commander of Troops. Members of the 343rd form the color guard, honoring Army tradition in the transition of leadership.

Saber Junction 2023 is an annual exercise designed to increase the 2d Cavalry Regiment lethality, capabilities and readiness to deter aggression in support of ’s collective deterrence and defense initiatives. The 11th Armoured Cavalry Division is responsible for training more than 4,000 from the U.S. and 14 NATO, and partner nations participating in the exercise.

Arcane Thunder 23 is a 2nd Multi-Domain Task Force exercise taking place with U.S. Army and multinational partners from Aug. 28 to Sep. 8, 2023, in Mainz-Kastel, Germany; Ustka, Poland; and Mihail Kogălniceanu, Romania. As part of the U.S. Army’s Project Convergence - Europe campaign to evaluate the progress of the service’s modernization efforts, this exercise will validate and test the continuous integration of effects in various domains, including air, land, sea, space, and cyberspace.
