Today our third grade reading class transformed into the Wit and Wisdom café for a book tasting! To launch module one (the sea) students “sampled” our new core texts- flipping through pages, making predictions, and jotting down what they noticed and wondered. They left with full bellies of curiosity and a list of deep sea books they can’t wait to devour! 📚🦁🐠 🌊

We are thrilled to announce that Lakewood Elementary teachers Madelyn Casto, Jamie Freyaldenhov, Melanie Griffey, Bailey Black, Mikayla Mallison, Casey Smith, Tiffany Bullock, Ashton Butler, Lance Walters, Lauren Meeks and Kristy Matthews have been awarded merit pay bonuses in recognition of their exceptional work this past year! (Not Pictured: Courtney Hastings, Alex Upshaw, Kim Douglass, Mandy Fimple, Lisa Hoggard) Their unwavering dedication to their students is truly exemplary, and we are so proud to have them as part of our district.

✨ Kindergarten Signing Day! ✏️🍎

After completing all of their kindergarten testing, our teachers carefully look at each student’s needs, strengths, and abilities to create balanced class lists.

Monday was Signing Day—the day our kindergarteners officially found out which class they would be starting the year in! 🎉

And just like that, our newest little learners are ready to begin their kindergarten journey! 💙💛🦁

When you see a former student all grown up and working, and the one thing they remember most is the clay bowl and cup they made in the art room at Lakewood Elementary. Moments like these are a beautiful reminder that the little things we create and the memories we make can last a lifetime. 🦁💙💛
