90th Sustainment Brigade 90th SUS BDE The white star denoted the Texas origin of the unit and the five points further represents the campaign credits for WWII service in Europe.

The 90th Infantry Division’s World War I service in France is represented by the vertical arrow shaft, while the head of the arrow and the gold lion behind it (derived from the coat of arms of Normandy, France) signify participation in the amphibious assault at Normandy during WWII. Awards of the French Croix de Guerre and Meritorious Unit Commendation are represented by the crossed bayonets.

Brig. Gen. Mitchell Wisniewski, commander of the 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, presents the Association of the United States Army’s General Walter T. Kerwin Jr. Readiness Award to the 90th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, Nov. 11, 2025. 90th SB’s Task Force Tough ‘Ombres was deployed to the U.S. southern border from Oct. 16, 2024 to Nov. 12, 2025, and assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border, which executes full-scale, agile, and all-domain operations in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect the territorial integrity of the United States and achieve 100% operational control of the border. Task Force Tough 'Ombres at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, received a special visit from Brig. Gen. Fred Hockett, U.S. Army Reserve Command G-3/5/7. Having previously deployed with the 90th Sustainment Brigade, he wore the legendary Tough 'Ombres "TO" patch in solidarity with the Soldiers and awarded challenge coins to a select few for outstanding work and accomplishments on the southern border.

Under 90th SB’s Task Force Tough ‘Ombres, the 109th Engineer Battalion’s Task Force Coyotes of the South Dakota Army National Guard and companies assigned to them, the 1463rd Transportation Company of the Michigan Army National Guard and the 808th Engineer Company of the U.S. Army Reserve, diligently patrol the southern border.
