Way to go Arkansas Imagination Library!

🎉 7 MILLION books—and 7 million reasons to celebrate! 📚

Since Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library launched in Arkansas in May 2005, more than 7 million free, high-quality books have been mailed to children across our state.

This milestone was made possible by the Dollywood Foundation, the Arkansas General Assembly, our 55+ Local Program Partners, and generous donors statewide. Thank you for helping Arkansas children build brighter futures—one book at a time! 💙

📚 August is here, and there's nothing quite like book delivery day!

"Getting books in the mail makes it really special. We love checking the mail as a family." — Jennifer, Pulaski County mom ❤️

Jennifer says her daughter can't get enough of Good Night, Gorilla—or as she calls it, "the monkey book!" She laughs every time the "silly monkey" tiptoes around letting the animals out. 🐵

Every Arkansas child under age 5 can receive a free book in the mail each month through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library.

Between ages 0-3, a child’s brain forms more than one million neural connections every second!

Repeated positive experiences help strengthen the connections the brain uses most, while less-used connections may be pruned over time. That is one reason reading aloud from birth matters so much.

When babies hear words, turn pages, point to pictures, and interact with a caring adult, they are building language, vocabulary, attention, and the foundation for later reading and learning.

You do not have to wait until a child can understand every word—or even sit still for an entire book. Every shared story, conversation, and playful moment with a book helps build a stronger foundation.

Arkansas is one of the states where Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is available statewide—with full coverage in every county and ZIP code. 📚

Today, nearly 82,000 Arkansas children are enrolled, representing about 45% of children from birth to age five across the state.

This statewide reach is made possible in part through a 50% state match funded through the Arkansas Department of Education.

Thank you to the State of Arkansas for investing in early literacy and helping more children build home libraries from birth! 💙

⚽ Today, Spain and Argentina meet in the World Cup Final—and we’re celebrating the language and stories their cultures share.

Arkansas families enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library can choose a fully bilingual English/Spanish book collection, helping children enjoy stories and build language skills in both languages.

No matter which team you’re cheering for, books bring us together. 📚
