I was glad for the chance to show folks how to be involved during the upcoming session. Did you know you can participate in the committee meetings even from Cache Valley? Let me know if you’d like me to show you how.

We have an opportunity to get even closer to and make a difference in our lawmaking process. Our local legislators are partnering with some of their constituents to vet the upcoming House bills and State bills. If you would like to be a local hero let your GOP chair know.

During Transportation Interim Committee Meeting this week I presented a bill intended to increase boater safety on our waterways. I agreed to sponsor the bill because the original plan was to require boaters to complete a 90 minute course each year. I've been working this summer with the DNR and now course will take the average person fewer than 20 minutes to complete.

I attended a special pre-release screening of the great film, Truth & Treason. Based on a true story, the film is about a teenage boy in Germany who, during World War II, was forced to confront a terrible truth—loyalty to his country means loyalty to a lie.

The writing, acting, cinematography and sound were all excellent. I highly recommend it as a movie you will want to see.

I was grateful to tour The Farm at Millcreek to see the great value of small urban farms around the state. They raise great crops, help Utah be self sufficient, and employ good people.
