Florida Tour de Force

Florida Tour de Force The inaugural 1997 Tour de Force was dedicated to Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Robert Smith who was killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver.

Florida Tour De Force is a 270 mile charity bicycle ride from North Miami Beach Police Department to Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety Department on April 13th through the 17th, 2026 The Tour was founded by Detective Mike DeMarcus of North Miami Beach Police Department. Detective DeMarcus coordinated the Tour for 12 years before retiring in 2010. The Tour was established and still is ran as a "gr

ass roots" organization which was formed by a group of police officers who wanted to bring awareness and support to the surviving family members of Florida law enforcement officers who have been lost in the line of duty. The Tour has grown in size each year and we are proud to announce that as a non-profit charity organization, we have raised nearly $200,000.00 for families of fallen officers and law enforcement related organizations. The Tour has conducted rides to benefit organizations such as Concerns of Police Survivors and The Jimmy Ryce Foundation. Each year riders complete a 270 mile, five day ride from the North Miami Beach Police Department to the Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety Department. The riders are given police escorts by the Florida Highway Patrol, Sheriff's Departments and local Police Departments. Riders raise funding through the public sector as well as through the business sector. The Tour annually raises money and distributes the proceeds to the surviving family members of law enforcement officers who die in the line of duty in the state of Florida. All proceeds with the exception of a small amount of money to pay for start up expenses each year are equally distributed to the surviving family members of officers lost in the line of duty during the current year. The citizens, media and various law enforcement departments throughout the state have supported the ride since its inception with great enthusiasm. The Tour de Force is open to both law enforcement members and civilians. The success of the Tour de Force relies on our partnership with corporate business. Please support the families of Florida law enforcement officers who make the ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect the citizens of Florida

TODAY, WE REMEMBER: On May 27, 1998, Deputy Grady Braddock was on patrol when he learned that Windermere Police were trying to catch two suspects in a stolen vehicle.

Deputy Braddock drove toward the pursuit to help. His life was tragically taken from him when the stolen car struck his car at over 90 miles per hour.
We will Deputy Braddock or his sacrifice.
