I joined veterans, families, community leaders, and residents at the City of North Miami Memorial Day Ceremony to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. 🇺🇸

I had the privilege of delivering greetings and expressing our deepest gratitude to our veterans and military families for their courage, dedication, and selfless service. We were also honored by the presence of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and distinguished guests, including Mayor Charlotte Thompson of Florida City, whose attendance beautifully reflected the spirit of unity and remembrance.

A special thank you to our keynote speaker, Julie Robison, an Army veteran, whose heartfelt message resonated deeply with all of us. Drawing on her own experiences in service, she empowered, encouraged, and empathized with our veterans and military families, reminding us of the strength, resilience, and profound sacrifices of those who serve our country.

As we observe Memorial Day, we remember that freedom comes at great cost and honor the heroes whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

On Friday morning, I had the pleasure of joining Councilwoman Mary Estimé, members of the City of North Miami staff, local business owners, and Miami-Dade residents on the inaugural ZED Airlines flight to Cap-Haïtien, Haiti.

We celebrated this historic occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and luncheon, marking an exciting milestone in strengthening travel connections and expanding opportunities for families, businesses, and communities on both sides of the water. This inaugural flight represents another meaningful step toward enhancing accessibility and fostering even stronger ties within the Haitian community and beyond.

Congratulations to ZED Airlines on this outstanding achievement. I look forward to your continued success!

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom. Their courage, service, and selflessness allow us to live in the greatest nation on earth.

We remember not just their names, but the families they left behind, the dreams they never got to see fulfilled, and the liberty they secured for all of us, including our North Miami community. To our veterans and active-duty service members: thank you for your sacrifice and your continued commitment. We owe you a debt we can never fully repay.

Let us honor their memory by living with gratitude, unity, and purpose. May God bless our fallen heroes, their families, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸

I had the pleasure of addressing students at MAST@FIU Biscayne Bay Campus during their Haitian Flag Day celebration. I also participated as a panelist in a lively Q&A session, where the students asked thoughtful and insightful questions about the Haitian American experience, our culture, leadership, and the many contributions Haitians have made to America.

The program featured a beautiful student poetry presentation and an energetic cultural dance performance that truly captured the richness and pride of our Haitian heritage. It was inspiring to see the students so engaged, proudly celebrating their culture while learning about the importance of community, identity, and leadership during Haitian Heritage Month. 🇭🇹
