The U.S. Army Reserve's 99th Readiness Division ramped up Battle Focused Training for chaplains and unit ministry teams this spring, running three exercises at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.
The training comes as the U.S. Army shifts focus to large-scale combat operations against near-peer adversaries.
"We're trying to train unit ministry teams and chaplain sections to increase their capability so that they can be ready for future conflict or conflict that's even occurring now," said Lt. Col. James Andrew Laker, Building Strong and Ready Teams instructor for the 99th RD Chaplain Office.
For the first time, training moved into the field, with about 40 Soldiers practicing land navigation, dismounted movement, and reacting to drone threats.
"I'm just proud of the Soldiers who showed up and gave it 💯 percent," Laker said.

• Share personal photos or private information
• Trust accounts with slightly different usernames or fake screenshots
If you see a fake page pretending to be me, REPORT IT IMMEDIATELY. Don’t support it, don’t entertain it, and don’t ignore it. These scammers continue because people keep giving them attention.
I’m honestly angry that this even has to be said. Too many women are being targeted by fake accounts every single day, and it needs to stop. Protect yourselves. Be smarter online. Verify before trusting anybody.
