American International Relief

American International Relief The American International Relief, is a organization that helps family's that are in need My Name is Camille Merilus from America International Relief Inc.

I lost my eyesight through untreated Glaucoma and Diabetes. That’s why we are devoting our lives to help others prevent or cope with health problems. We have been providing Health-Related Services since 1992 and the eyesight of an 11 years old named Carl Marcellus was saved through our first Vision Screening Program. And years later thousands of people have been referred to Bascom Palmer and Nova

South Eastern University for eye care. WAR AGAINST HUNGER

The food bank efforts of the AIR had been in place for twelve years. The service provided to our community includes a weekly trip to Homestead to collect food from Farm Share, transport the food to a temporary local office, and make it available to those in need. We serve 208 families every month. The people who are served by the food bank hear the news about the Food Program through our various intervention on WLQY 1320 AM radio, Radio Mega 1700 am, WSRN 1580 amIsland TV, 880 am the Biz etc. Once our clients come to our office to complete a form to determine if they earn less than $ 16,000,00 yearly, with evidence of income, unemployment , etc.) and once deemed to be qualified are able to receive food from our food bank. We do door to door food distribution to elderly and disable people. Also, during special days, such as Thanksgiving, Eastern, and Christmas, we provided turkeys, hams, and other holiday foods. People learn of the Foundation services through an aggressive public relations campaign which include targeted radio` programming community outreach, Faith Bases Collaboration, local cable programming etc. Providing food to unprivileged families, serving hot meals to the homeless population and helping the community stay healthier are our business. We cannot do it alone, that is the reason why we are calling upon you for your financial assistance to carry out this humanitarian cause. Plans for
JEM youth Academy
Air has an after school program for youth, ages 5-14 years. The goal of the JEM Youth Academy after school is to provide assistance that will enable the children to excel in school, and to keep them off the streets, engaged in enrichment and other opportunities that will provide experiences not typically available in schools or the community. Examples of enrichment activities we have provided in the past include homework help, extensive reading comprehension and grammar activities to prepare them for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test ( FCAT ), and integrated computer activities. For the past two summers we run a program mi-June through late August, with the Assistance of the South Florida Workforce, for children to receive childcare services that incorporated educational activities and games, local field trips to park and other recreational facilities, organized with the help of local businesses. The families involved with the after school and summer Programs do not pay for these services. The criteria for participation also include the proof of income and other documents, similar to that establish for our food bank. FUNDRAISING
During the last several months, tragic and extraordinary situations happened among our Youth Population that require that we stand up as a society to create a better and safer environment for our Youngsters. For example, in March 2012, a 16 years old boy killed his mother and threw a party in the next room. Our Organization considers situations like these as a wake up call to do more to protect and prevent such actions among the younger population. We need to help them complete high school and college, and become productive citizens of society. In order to achieve the goal, our organization desperately needs your financial assistance to improve our professionals to work with the children. SOS JOb, JOb, Job is a Job Creation Program initiated by American International Relief Inc. to help low income and below the poverty line people to find something to do so they could make a living. Sophisticated techniques are currently being use by our agency to get employers or work places to get in touch with us when they have an opening. We desperately need your financial assistance to line up a team of outreach counselors to get acquainted with all type of employers and find out who are those positions that need to be filled. We also need money to equip ourselves with appropriate material such as : vehcles, computers etc. so we can get the job done and put a lot of people to work. INERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES
We also promote Sister City relationship between Cities in Haiti and Cities in US. Through our Sister City Program the City of Fort Lauderdale donated a fire truck to the City of Saint Marc Haiti. Our first container of food and clothing went to Haiti in 1997. Currently, our foundation is facing a hardship to pay for the place where we operate our organization and taking care of our lease. We know how much you like the work we do in Haiti, The children we help on a daily basis, and the food we provide to the families in need. We have a debt
