Tuesday noon meeting at 1019 Hwy 17 South, North Myrtle Beach SC 29582 - today’s topic is “Introduction to Tryp”. Tryp is a rideshare platform that has been beta testing its apps in south Florida. The company already has enough drivers signed up there, and in Orlando, New Orleans, and New York City to open in those markets before Jan 1, 2020. The CEO announced that 50 markets will be open by end of 2020. I’m looking forward to when Tryp launches here in Grand Strand area. These Tuesday noon meetings are free to attend. All of good will are welcome.

Best wishes,

Oct 31, 2019 - Today is the last day of the “pay-to-park” season here in North Myrtle Beach, and in Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach too.

08/23/2019

A new rideshare company, Tryp, will be offering rides here, perhaps as soon as next year. Passengers will hail rides using the “Tryp Rides” app which is already available for Android and IPhone. Passengers and Drivers will love Tryp. A passenger can request a particular driver, or specify that their driver be hailed from a group of their favorite drivers. I expect this will be especially popular with women. I’ve read that while 62% of adult men have used rideshare, only 18% of adult women have.

Tryp plans to offer lower fares on every ride, and promises never to use surge pricing. Passengers will appreciate that! I expect that multitudes of folks will open Tryp app because when they type in their destination, Tryp will show not only the Tryp price for that ride, but also the Uber and Lyft price for that same ride.

Although Tryp’s prices will be lower, Tryp’s drivers will earn more and every driver will also earn stock.

I went to Miami last week for Tryp’s launch in their first market. The company had over 2,000 drivers already signed up in that area. If we can get 2,000 drivers signed up here, Tryp will launch here before launching in larger markets. The company expects to launch in some thirty metro areas before the end of 2019, and in some 100 metro areas by this time next year.

One of the big differences between Tryp and the two now-dominant companies is that Tryp is a referral-based company. Every driver and passenger has to be referred by somebody, and every ride taken by somebody you referred will earn you 40 cents. As soon as you sign up as a free passenger, you’ll get your own referral code. It would be a pleasure and an honor to see you join using my referral code, which is

trypsteve4618

It’s easy to sign up and use the free app. If you sign up now, you’ll even get a $1 credit toward your first ride.

There’s other ways to earn with Tryp too. I’m all in.

Best wishes,

Steve Schulin of North Myrtle Beach,
Driver/Influencer, Tryp

Oct 3, 2018 - Today’s Wall Street Journal includes a special section titled THE FUTURE OF FOOD. It is chock full of interesting stories. Did you know there’s a company that has developed a 3D printer for use by restaurants and other food preparation businesses? A home version of the Foodini is coming that will, for example, let you put ground chicken in one bin, breadcrumbs in another, and let your children pick the shape they like for a chicken nugget meal. The machine will then, with a click of a button, create and cook the nuggets. Very cool stuff. My fellow South Carolinians may be as wowed as I was at the full page ad from our state’s Office of Agribusiness Development. SC, it reports, has “the country’s most efficient port, five interstates and 41,000 miles of highway, plus a location that’s within 1,000 miles of 75% of the US population.”

North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina: a great place to live and visit

June 22, 2017 (Windy Hill Beach, South Carolina) -- Good turnout at today's North Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce's annual Chairman's Luncheon. Our new state Governor was the featured speaker. He described the Grand Strand's importance to South Carolina, and assured all that the state government will do whatever is needed to assure that a vacation in Myrtle Beach is safe. One immediate state effort in this regard is, he said, starting tomorrow, the will be a much greater police presence in the city of Myrtle Beach. Some of that extra presence will be seen on the streets, and some will be behind the scenes

The mass shooting on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach Sunday has prompted much discussion along the Grand Strand about guns and police. We should certainly not accept violence as inevitable, but changes regarding guns and police are not what are needed. We need to elevate respect for human life to its rightful place in our society. Several years ago, I heard a man whose child was amongst those killed at Columbine High School. He sought to understand why children are killing other children. He was not an activist before, but he has become one since. He founded an organization named American Right to Life. On a typical day in the US, we allow perhaps 3,000 children to be killed by surgical abortion and an unknown number (perhaps 40 times more) to be killed by abortifacient drugs. For decades, our laws and institutions have been teaching people that it's ok to murder any of this group of the most defenseless human beings. No gun control or police presence will do as much to curtail murderous actions as showing that our Constitution should be taken to heart.
