A friendly reminder from the North Newton Police Dept... be sure to remove fi****ms and other valuables from your vehicle(s) and lock your vehicles. There have been some vehicle burglaries recently in the surrounding area and we don't want that to happen to you.

A great way to get around town.

Did you know Harvey Interurban transportation traverses about 70,000 miles each year for our residents? Interurban is reliable, safe, low-cost general public transportation. Our riders commonly schedule convenient Interurban rides for medical appointments, grocery shopping or recreational trips.

Interurban is an especially beneficial tool for caregivers. Access to public transportation can allow older adults continued independence. Our vehicles are Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant.

Scheduling a ride through Interurban simply requires a minimum 24-hour notice. You can make an appointment by calling 316-284-6802, or visiting our office (don't forget, we've moved to 215 S. Pine St. in Newton!).

For more info on Interurban, visit our website: https://www.harveycounty.gov/interurban-transportation

Snow Advisory for Residents ❄️

We are expecting snowfall. Chavo will do his best to clear the sidewalks as conditions allow; however, sidewalks will not be cleared until the snow has stopped.

With the severe wind chill, it is best to stay indoors if possible.

As a reminder, if you do not want your vehicle buried by snow, you may need to move it accordingly.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Please stay safe and warm.
